Cape Town - In hope of getting his job back, sacked Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba has filed a case with the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) against the South Africa Football Association (SAFA).
According to KickOff, the 66-year-old lodged the case under the condition that he was dismissed unfairly.
Mashaba’s legal representative, Claudio Bollo, confirmed that they are waiting for a date as to when a hearing will be given.
"We handed the matter to the CCMA yesterday and we now wait for the date of the hearing," Bollo said.
Bollo wants SAFA to hold off the search for Mashaba’s replacement until the final verdict from the CCMA.
Several names have been linked to the Bafana Bafana head coach role with Pitso Mosimane as favourite to take over.
Meanwhile, Bafana Bafana have been grouped with Nigeria for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers along with Libya and the Seychelles.
