SAFA to announce new Bafana coach after Angola match

Cape Town - It has been reported that SAFA are set to unveil the new Bafana Bafana head coach after the international friendly against Angola.

Bafana Bafana have been without a mentor since the end of December 2016 after SAFA sacked Shakes Mashaba for misconduct.

Sport24 reported earlier this month that Carlos Queiroz (Iran head coach) and Herve Renard (Morocco head coach) were said to be among SAFA's top-two choices.

However, both coaches confirmed that neither of them are interested to fill the void left by Mashaba.

SAFA spokesperson Dominic Chimhavi revealed that the association have already sealed the deal with the new head coach.

"We were supposed to announce the coach this week but we have decided to postpone it until next week, after the Angola game, so that it does not overshadow the upcoming games," Chimhavi said as quoted by KickOff website.

"Everything is finalised and we’ve already sealed the deal (with the coach). We are just waiting to announce his name."

Bafana Bafana face Guinea-Bissau at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday at 15:00 while their next fixture will be against Angola three days later (Tuesday, March 28 at Buffalo City Stadium in East London at 19:00).
