Cape Town - Stuart Baxter on Friday announced his resignation as head coach from Bafana Bafana sparking a huge reaction from the public across social media platforms.
The 65-year-old brought an end to a turbulent second spell in charge of the men's national team just over two years into a five-year contract as he was given the challenge of guiding Bafana Bafana to the 2022 Soccer World Cup in Qatar.
"I feel that I cannot continue to work with the required professionalism and passion as I have done," Baxter said. "Also to deal with the many issues involved with this programme."
The former SuperSport United mentor's announcement sent shock-waves through South African football with him soon the top trending topic across social media.

He must just go and manage Chiefs for Good. pic.twitter.com/rjawdlZZvB
Benni if he is smart and doesnt wana damage his coaching career this early, must stay away from Bafana Post. That team can make Pep Guardiola look ordinary. Stuart Baxter did his best there, we just dont have the team to compete in the world. stop fooling yourselves SA.
