Banyana gain own identity as new logo launched

Cape Town - The South African Football Association has launched a new logo for Banyana Banayana, the national women's soccer team.

The striking new design was unveiled in Johannesburg on Thursday.

Acting chief exectutive officer, Russel Paul said SAFA had decide on a seperate logo for the side as they needed their own identity.

Banyana Banyana qualified for this year's Women's World Cup in France but bowed out in the group stages.

Sadly, the team did not qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games after they were shocked by neighbours Botswana over two legs in September.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
