Cape Town - Thapelo Morena says admits it was painful for him to miss out on Bafana Bafana's back-to-back matches against Seychelles due to a thigh injury.
The Mamelodi Sundowns utility man picked up the injury in the warm-up ahead of the Premiership clash with Bidvest Wits and was forced to withdraw from Stuart Baxter's squad.
However, Morena revealed that the problem is only a minor one and he's hoping to be back in action as early as next month.
"I think now it's getting much better," the 25-year-old told SuperSport. "During warm-up I pulled a quad muscle and went for a scan and was also assessed by the national team.
"It's grade one, it's not a serious injury, but they said it was best that I sat out to avoid more damage and it will take me a week or two out on the side-lines.
"I was looking forward to reporting for camp with the national team, but due to the injury I couldn't. I wanted to play, and I know I have a duty to represent my team and the national team.
"It was not a good feeling for me and I was really, really sad."
