Mashaba: Finishing remains a problem

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba insists that the big problem remains to be finishing off the chances they create.

South Africa suffered a goalless draw against Cameroon in their AFCON qualifier at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

According to Soccer Laduma, Mashaba remains upbeat of South Africa’s future as a football nation despite their chances of going to the finals in Gabon.

"We still have the same big problem... finishing. We created close to six, seven chances in the second half, but we want to take the ball into the back of the net instead of shooting. The boys must have learnt a lot from this,” said Mashaba.

"We had some defensive errors in the centre of defence. They were allowing them to go through. They had some good chances towards the end.

"But this is a good team for the future. We just need to plug some key positions, especially in the striking force."

South Africa will have to win their remaining two games by a decent margin if they were to have any chance of qualification as well as rely on other results in the other groups.
