Maboe happy with Bafana response against Namibia

Cape Town - Lebohang Maboe is happy with how Bafana Bafana responded on Tuesday to clinch a big win over Namibia in the COSAFA Cup Plate semi-final.

South African over the weekend suffered a shock penalty loss to lowly ranked Madagascar in the semi-finals of the regional competition and were in the process relegated to the Plate semi-finals, which is contested by all teams that lost in the semis.

The Maritzburg United forward, who scored a brace in the 4-1 win over Namibia feels the team showed character to bounce back from the disappointing loss to Madagascar and get a big win over the Brave Warriors.

Stuart Baxter's charges will now face Botswana in the COSAFA Plate final to be played on Friday in the Limpopo province.

The Team of choice forward also bagged the Man of the Match award for a fine display scoring a brace and admitted that he could have registered a hat-trick on the day.

Maboe told Supersport: "I think we came back very strongly we knew that we lost our first game we had to show character coming into this game which I think we did very well hence we won the game.

"I know had I been more composed I could have scored the third goal but it did not come. I'm just glad we did well as a team."
