Cape Town - Thembinkosi Lorch has quickly become a household name in the South African domestic league for his pace, technical ability and having an eye at goal.
The talented midfielder-cum-striker is now eager to convert his scintillating domestic form to the national stage and make South Africans proud when Bafana Bafana take on Libya this coming Sunday in the all-important 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
Bafana Bafana need only a draw to secure a spot in the African showpiece which will take place in Egypt from June 21 - July 19. The Orlando Pirates kingpin has put his hand up to not only carry the expectations of South Africans on his shoulders but to also make a positive impact in the team.
"We have a tough task ahead of us this coming weekend," Lorch told the SAFA website but the camp has started really well and we are all positive that we can come out of here with the result that will make Mzansi proud as a football nation."
Lorch believes that with the tactical approach that the team is working on and the quality of players in camp, this squad will take some stopping.
"I have had a good run of late at club level, and have gained a lot of international experience through the CAF Champions League and I now know the best and worst circumstances on the continent.
"It is also very inspiring that the current Bafana Bafana squad has the experience needed to conquer this challenge," Lorch concluded.
Bafana Bafana will hold two training sessions on Tuesday in Tunis, Tunisia and will continue with preparations before moving to Sfax, on Thursday ahead of the weekend's clash.
South Africa take on Libya on Sunday in Sfax at 19:00 SA time.
