Cape Town - Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune says that he is delighted to welcome the return of Thulani Serero to the national set-up.

Serero had previously withdrawn his availability for South Africa after being left on the bench for three World Cup qualifiers.

Since then though there have been clear the air talks with Serero and head coach Stuart Baxter, ahead of a vital 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria on Saturday.

Speaking ahead of the game, Khune told reporters: "I grew up with Thulani, our houses were just one robot away from each other, and so we are very close. When he is in the country, he comes to my house or I go to his.

"We have been talking a lot about coming him coming back, because the team needs him. We only heard from the media that he was not going to be playing for Bafana.

"But all is forgiven. We are a family here, and Thulani realised he made a mistake, and had told me he would speak to Safa and the coach about being available again."

After four rounds of (of six) matches played, the Super Eagles lead Group E with 9 points, one ahead of South Africa, who have accumulated 8 points from two wins and two draws.

Libya are in third place with 4 points, followed by the Seychelles on 1 point.
