Gordinho itching to compete in Rio

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs defender Lorenzo Gordinho says that the experience playing against Brazil in their on backyard with the South Africa under-23 side has made him eager to return to footballing nation in August for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The Amakhosi defender started for Owen da Gama's side where the game was played at Maceio’s Estadio Rei Pele.

South Africa lost 3-1 but Gordinho sees the visit as a good experience.

“It was a good experience,” Gordinho told his club's website.

“It was a long travel but it is always great to experience another culture. The Brazilians really love their soccer. The stadium was packed to capacity.”

“It would be great to be selected for the Olympics. That is a dream for any young sportsman.”
