Former Bafana coach Ted Dumitru dies

Cape Town - Former Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana coach Ted Dumitru passed away on Thursday after suffering a massive heart attack.

Romania-born Dumitru collapsed at Eastgate Mall earlier on Thursday. He was 76.

SAFA Technical Director, Neil Tovey, confirmed the passing of the Dumitru, who has won an array of South African football competitions throughout his coaching career.

Dumitru won two Absa Premiership titles with Mamelodi Sundowns, before adding another two at the helm of Kaizer Chiefs.

He also coached Bafana Bafana at the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations.
