Dolly: I'll give my all for Bafana at COSAFA Cup

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana winger Keagan Dolly says he will give 100% effort to prove his fitness for the national team at the COSAFA Cup.

Dolly has been included in coach David Notoane's squad for the competition in order to prove his conditioning to senior men's side coach Stuart Baxter ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt.

Dolly had an injury disrupted season in France's Ligue 1 with Montpellier as he suffered a shin fracture in September last year.

However, he has gained some valuable playing time in his club's reserve team and will now step up his efforts for Bafana's COSAFA Cup side.

Notoane's men are set to face Botswana in a quarter-final clash on 2 June at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban.

He said: "I am very happy to be in Durban to participate in my first ever COSAFA Cup. My family and I decided that it was important for me to be part of this team because it's a good way to show the coaches my level of fitness.

"So, that was the main reason and then, of course, I also need the game-time, especially because of the season I had, it was a bit difficult with injuries and not playing as much as I wanted to.

"But I am excited to be part of this exciting team and just getting back to my normal self. AFCON will also depend on how I do here, but I just want to get my confidence back and I'll give my all to help the COSAFA team.

"Hopefully then when I do join the AFCON squad, I can be at my best again and just make the final squad to go and represent the country well in Egypt."
