Cape Town - Banyana Banyana finished 10th at the Cyprus Cup after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Finland in their 9th/10th playoff clash in Paralimni on Wednesday.

Katarina Naumanen opened the scoring for Finland in the 31st minute as the Scandinavian side took a 1-0 lead into the half-time break.

Things went from bad to worse for Desiree Ellis' side as they conceded again shortly after the restart in the 51st minute thanks to a goal from midfielder Iina Salmi.

Midfielder Olga Ahtinen then made sure of the victory for the Finns when she made it 3-0 in the 85th minute.

Banyana - who were the lowest-ranked side in the tournament - have now suffered their third consecutive defeat in the tournament after holding the same opponents to a draw in their tournament opener.
