Bafana v Gambia date, venue confirmed

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana’s clash against Gambia in the penultimate 2016 Gabon Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers has been set for Saturday, 4 June 2016.

Shakes Mashaba's charges will travel to Gambia as the match will take place at Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The venue is a 30 000 multi-purpose stadium with natural grass.

It is currently used mostly for football matches, although it is also used for music concerts, political events, trade fairs and national celebrations.

According to the official SAFA website, kick-off is at 17:00 local time (19:00 SA Time).

South Africa’s last match in the qualifiers was a goalless draw against Cameroon in Durban in March.

Bafana Bafana are in Group M with log leaders Cameroon, Gambia and Mauritania.

South Africa is third on the table with three points after four matches.

Cameroon leads the group with eight points, followed by Mauritania on seven while Gambia are bottom with two points.
