Bafana used to play like Sundowns, says Feutmba

Roger Feutmba believes Bafana Bafana should mimic Mamelodi Sundowns' football philosophy.

The Brazilians' former midfielder says that for the South African national men's side to reign supreme in Africa again it would need to rediscover their football identity.

"Even in the past, South African football especially the national team used to play like Mamelodi Sundowns," Feutmba said as quoted by KickOff.

"I remember they were playing that type of football with flair. If you look at it carefully, most South African football players have that style of flair and skills with positivity, and that's what Sundowns is doing.

"I believe the national team can build from what they have in hand. They have quality. They just need to improve tactically because technically they are sorted.

He added: "You see, Sundowns' philosophy is working because they've got people who have learned a lot when it comes to the tactical side of the game. Bafana can adopt that."
