Stuart Baxter's men's hopes of qualifying for the 2018 Soccer World Cup in Russia lie in tatters after they suffered an embarrassing defeat to the Cape Verde Islands at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban
Baxter shared his disappointment after the game while adding that his side now relied on other results in Group D.
"I'm totally gutted, as a professional and someone who loves this country, personally I am very very very disappointed. I can't say I'm confident after a 2-1 loss but we will make sure that we do everything we can to win the next two games," he told reporters after the game.
Bafana quickly became the number one trending topic on Twitter after the defeat with fans immediately trolling the team's performance and their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup.
