Bafana down Uganda for place in COSAFA Cup plate final

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana have secured their place in the plate final of the COSAFA Cup by beating Uganda 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw during normal time on Tuesday.

After a goalless first half, Uganda took the lead early in the second stanza thanks to a goal from Serunkuma. 

Luther Singh, who scored in South Africa's shock loss to Botswana on Saturday levelled matters in the 72nd minute.

With the teams deadlocked at 1-1 after full-time it was South Africa that advanced on penalties after goalkeeper Mondli Mpoto pulled off two saves.

South Africa will now face Malawi in the plate final after they beat the Seychelles 2-1.
