Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns forward Lebohang Maboe revealed his joy at being selected in the Bafana Bafana squad for the matches against Seychelles later this month.
Maboe has been in fine form for Sundowns after earlier making his name as a top talent with Maritzburg United.
The player was in the Bafana squad which took part in the COSAFA Cup, however, he will now be involved on a bigger stage for the two African Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Pirates.
Speaking to KickOff website, the 24-year-old said he was overwhelmed with all the support he received when his selection was confirmed.
He told the publication: "I was actually at training and after I got out of the shower one of my team-mates [Madisha] came to me and said 'congratulations'. I was like 'congratulations for what?' It only started sinking in when I got home.
"Everyone else started calling and I started getting messages from family and close friends. My dad called me and said congratulations and told me that I must not relax. I was the one who broke the news to my mom.
"There isn't any player who at one stage does not want to represent the national team, so it's a very humbling feeling. It's what I have been waiting for and it's what I have been working towards. Now that I am here, I need to keep working harder."
Bafana Bafana welcome Seychelles to the FNB Stadium on October 13 before squaring off in a return leg three days later at the Stade Linite.
Kick-off is at 15:00.
