Cape Town - Bafana Bafana beat SuperSport United 1-0 in a practice match at Megawatt Park in preparation for their crucial African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Seychelles.
Stuart Baxter's men narrowly defeated his former club side thanks to a first-half goal by in-form Strasbourg attacker Lebo Mothiba.
The fact that Mothiba is regularly finding the back of the net should be pleasing to Baxter who said that if Bafana played with intensity they could pick the Seychelles defence apart.
"I'm not saying anything now that I didn't say in previous games, but nerves, anxiety and loads of things like that can affect our intensity," Baxter said.
"If we play with the intensity that we're showing now and in a structure then we will pick our way through. But it takes time I saw Nigeria took a while to break through as well as Libya so we need to be patient.
"Our challenge is to reproduce the sort of form we are seeing now in training and that is our biggest challenge in South African football. We know we can do it but can we do it regularly.
Orlando Pirates attacker Thembinkosi Lorch who was a late injury replacement to the 25-man squad said a win against Seychelles is crucial.
"Home games are always crucial," Lorch said. "This is where we have to make sure that we collect maximum points. That will help ease the pressure when we go to play against them in their own backyard.
"On the other hand, it is also crucial not to think too far ahead of ourselves. Our focus should be channelled on our scheduled match on Saturday. We will worry about the second leg when we travel there."
Bafana Bafana host the Seychelles at FNB Stadium on Saturday before they travel to Stade Linete for a return fixture October 16.
Kick-off is at 15:00.
