Bafana Bafana to face Botswana in COSAFA QFs

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana have been drawn to take on Botswana in the 2019 COSAFA Cup quarter-finals after the draw took place on Thursday night in Johannesburg.

Bafana have met 'Dipitse' - translated into English as 'Zebras' - many times in the tournament in previous years.

South Africa have a significant advantage in terms of quality and have beaten their Southern African neighbours five times out of the last six in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Uganda will face Lesotho in the quarter-finals, while Zimbabwe will play the winner of Group A, which consists of Angola, Comoros, eSwatini and Mauritius. In addition, Zambia meet the winners of Group B, which includes Mozambique, Namibia, Malawi and Seychelles.

The four winning quarter-finalists will progress to the Cup semi-finals, while the losing sides will compete in the Plate competition.

The COSAFA Cup is set to be played in Durban from May 25 to June 8.
