Absa Premiership fixture changes ahead of Bafana Bafana qualifier

Cape Town - The Premier Soccer League (PSL) received a request from the South African Football Association (SAFA) for assistance in moving some Absa Premiership fixtures on the week and weekend ahead of the international break.

This was to give Bafana Bafana enough time to prepare for their crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya on March 22.

Although this season has already presented many challenges to the PSL in fixture scheduling including changes necessitated by the CAF calendar changes, the League, in consultation with Member Clubs, sponsors and broadcasters, acceded to the request.

The changes will affect Absa Premiership fixtures scheduled on Friday March 15, Saturday March 16 and Sunday March 17.

Below are the changes:

1. Chippa United vs. Highlands Park - moved to March 17, kick-off 15:30.

2. SuperSport United vs. Kaizer Chiefs - moved to March 15, kick-off 20:00.

3. Cape Town City vs. Polokwane City - moved to March 15, kick-off 20:00.

4. Bloemfontein Celtic vs. Bidvest Wits - moved to March 15, kick-off 20:00.

5. Free State Stars vs. AmaZulu - moved March 16, kick-off 15:30.
