Venue switch for Bafana-Costa Rica fixture

Cape Town – The international friendly fixture between Bafana Bafana and Costa Rica is set for a venue change.

According to Soccer Laduma, the encounter was scheduled to be played at the Boltodano Bricenio Stadium but now will instead be played at the Estadio Nacional in San Jose instead.

Bafana Bafana left for Costa Rica via Brazil on Monday and arrived in Costa Rica on Tuesday morning.

It has been revealed the South African squad is not complete as Orlando Pirates players will meet up with the squad in the next 48 hours.

The Buccaneers returned to the country after participating in the CAF Confederations Cup semi-final second leg in Egypt against Al Ahly.

Pirates advanced to the final after winning 5-3 on aggregate and will face Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel towards the end of November in a two legged final.

South Africa take on Costa Rica on Thursday, October 8 in San Jose at the Estadio Nacional.

Kick-off is at 04:00 SA time on Friday, October 9.

Five days later, Bafana Bafana clash against Honduras at the Metropolitano Stadium in San Pedro Sula.

Kick-off is at 00:00 SA time.
