Tshabalala backs Igesund

Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala has heaped praise on national team coach Gordon Igesund following the team's return from Brazil.

Igesund took charge of South Africa for the first time on Friday, and while the side eventually lost the tie 1-0, Tshabalala was hugely impressed with the head tactician's handling of the team so far.

"I think we are going to reach greater heights with Gordon in charge," Kaizer Chiefs playmaker Tshabalala told Football411.

"I have no doubt that South African football, specifically the national team, is in good hands with him in charge. He is the best and he has a good record as a coach to prove it.

"I think it is only a matter of time before we see results come our way. I'm very confident that we will do very well," he added.

Bafana will face Mozambique in a friendly international on Tuesday at the Mbombela stadium in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga.
