Thank you Shakes - Sekola

Cape Town - Following Moeketsi Sekola's call-up to Bafana Bafana, the striker has issued a huge thank you to Shakes Mashaba for believing in him.

Moeketsi Sekola was called up to the national squad by Shakes Mashaba following the late withdrawals of May Mahlangu (fatigue) and Sibusiso Vilakazi (toe injury).

According to Soccer Laduma, the 25-year-old has been in scintillating form for Free State Starshaving scored six goals this season for Ea Lla Koto.

“I’m very happy." said the in-form Free State Stars striker.

“I’ve been waiting for this chance and it finally came.

"I’m excited for this call up,”.

Sekola reveals that he knew a day before the time that he would be called-up after Stars management informed the player of his inclusion.

SAFA then chauffeured the striker to Durban early on Thursday morning.

The player also voiced his praise for Shakes Mashaba and hopes to prove himself in the Bafana Bafana set-up.

“I’ll have to thank him (Mashaba) for his belief in me,” Sekola added.

Bafana Bafana will face Sudan on Saturday, November 15 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

Kick-off is at 15:00.
