'Shoes' smiling in hospital

Cape Town – Bafana Bafana legend John "Shoes" Moshoeu is reportedly ‘smiling a lot’ as rumours about his passing are put to bed.

Sport24 reported earlier that the various unconfirmed reports that emerged on Tuesday suggesting that the former Bafana Bafana star midfielder John "Shoes" Moshoeu had passed away were untrue.

This was confirmed by the player's agent, Glyn Binkin. (Read the full story HERE!)

According to, Moshoeu is reportedly doing much better with an unnamed source further revealing more information about the player's condition.

“Shoes is doing better,” the source revealed to

“He’s been smiling a lot and even manages to chat with his visitors." 

According to the source, "Shoes" is continuing to be monitored by his medical team while the source added that concerned fans should wait for the former Bafana Bafana star's family to provide official updates on his condition. 

The nature of Moshoeu's illness is yet to be confirmed.

Moshoeu was admitted to the Charlotte Maxeke Hospital in Johannesburg some three weeks ago.
