Cape Town - Shakes Mashaba has reportedly been ordered by the South African Football Association (SAFA) to ensure there are more Mamelodi Sundowns players present in the Bafana Bafana squad.

The Tshwane giants saw only Bongani Zungu called up for the recent friendly internationals against Swaziland and Nigeria, something which drew the ire of Sundowns boss Pitso Mosimane.

And, with Zungu having netted the equaliser against the Super Eagles on Sunday, SAFA are believed to have given Mashaba a clear directive to employ more players from the club in future.

Speaking earlier this month regarding Mashaba's vast exclusion of Sundowns players, Mosimane said, "Look at Bafana, we hardly have a player. Even in the (Africa) Cup of Nations, none of my players played.

"Which teams scores goal? We don't have players in Bafana."
