Cape Town – Shakes Mashaba reiterates that winning the AFCON tournament in Equatorial Guinea remains a priority.

According to Soccer Laduma, Mashaba quickly brushed aside Bafana Bafana’s 1-0 victory over Zambia as he does not want to get lost in the mist of it all.

“We mustn’t drown in these kinds of achievements,” said Mashaba.

We have to put it behind our backs, look forward and aim for more because if we dwell on the past, it will cause us problems.

"It is a good record but it’s all in the past. We have to now work hard and win the AFCON tournament, then we can start dreaming of the World Cup.”

Mashaba added that they have set a demand for themselves by winning as many games as they have since Mashaba took over the reigns as head coach.

Bafana Bafana's Group C AFCON fixtures:

January 23 - Senegal v South Africa, Estadio de Mongomo, 21: 00

January 27 - Ghana v South Africa, Estadio de Mongomo, 20:00.
