Shakes bolter for Bafana?

Johannesburg - While it is unclear who will be the next Bafana Bafana coach, reports have emerged that Shakes Mashaba may have been chosen for the role.

The Soccer Laduma website reports that sources at SAFA house have indicated that Mashaba was chosen to take over from incumbent Gordon Igesund, who's contract expires at the end of August after SAFA elected not to renew his tenure.

SAFA have called for a media briefing at 13:30 and have confirmed that the new coach will not be present at the briefing.

Mashaba is currently out of the country with the national under-20 team, where they are taking part in a four nations tournament.
