Sekola handed Bafana chance

Cape Town - Shakes Mashaba has named his side to tackle Lesotho in a COSAFA Cup warm up fixture against Lesotho on Thursday.

The Bafana Bafana mentor opted to start with Thanda Royal Zulu's Phumelele Bhengu alongside the in-from Moeketsi Sekola up front.

The Free State Stars striker topped the PSL's scoring charts and will be eager to make the most of his opportunity at the highest level.

Jackson Mabokgwane has been entrusted with the captain's armband.

Thursday's fixture against Lesotho is one of two fixtures in the trip with another match scheduled for Saturday.

South Africa is scheduled to face Malawi in another training match on Friday, May 22 in Rustenburg.

The COSAFA Cup takes place from 17 - 30 May.

South Africa will face Botswana in the quarter-final of the competition on Sunday, May 24 at the Moruleng Stadium in the North West Province.

Kickoff is at 17:30.
