SAFA supports fixing probe

Johannesburg - The South African Football Association says it will cooperate fully if FIFA investigates allegations of match-fixing in two warmup games leading up to last year's World Cup.

Two days after reports that two friendlies involving the World Cup host are being investigated by FIFA, SAFA also promised action on Tuesday against any official involved in fixing.

South Africa's 2-1 win over Colombia and 5-0 victory over Guatemala, both staged in May 2010, are suspected of being manipulated.

No players are accused of wrongdoing but Niger referee Ibrahim Chaibou - who was in charge of this year's Nigeria-Argentina friendly, which FIFA is investigating for possible manipulation - officiated in the South Africa-Guatemala match.
