Johannesburg - The interview process for the Bafana Bafana head coaching position will begin on Thursday, the SA Football Association (SAFA) has announced.
Fanyana Sibanyoni, the chairperson of SAFA's technical committee, said on Wednesday the process, initially expected to start earlier in the day, had been delayed by 24 hours.
Four of the five coaches - Gordon Igesund, Gavin Hunt, Neil Tovey and Shakes Mashaba - would be interviewed on Thursday.
Bafana Bafana caretaker coach Steve Komphela, currently preparing the national team for a friendly international against Gabon on Friday, would be interviewed next Tuesday.
"We decided that all prospective coaches will each have a two-hour presentation followed by interviews, with the exception of Steve who is on national duty," Sibanyoni said.
"We expect to start the interviews early in the morning and everyone should have gone through the process by 4pm."
Following the interviews, the preferred coaches would be ranked, and the new coach would then be selected.
"There is a huge diversity of opinion on this matter," Sibanyoni said.
"That is why I am appealing to the public to welcome whoever is selected as the new Bafana Bafana head coach."
The new coach will take over from former Bafana Bafana minder Pitso Mosimane who was sacked earlier this month after South Africa put together a string of matches, dating back to August, without a win.
