Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana legend, Mark Williams has spoken out on what his thoughts are regarding the appointment of new Bafana Bafana coach, Shakes Mashaba and highlighted that his honesty sets him a apart from the rest.
Williams mentioned that Mashaba is an truthful mentor and that players will get chosen for the national team based on how hard they work for it, reports Soccer-Laduma's website.
"Shakes is an honest coach and he is a man of his word. He will pick players who deserve to play, not on merit,” he said.
He also mentioned that his experience will be vital and that he hopes SAFA supports him 100%.
“He has the experience in Africa, he has been travelling and coaching in other countries. I’m happy that it’s a South African coach. He knows the culture of the players. SAFA must support him and get the structure right. I’m happy they gave him the job,” he added.
Williams said that support should come from all angles, especially the people and football fans.
“We as the people must support him, we just want Bafana Bafana to win.”
Williams also added a word of confidence and wish Mashaba well on his appointment by saying, “Congratulations to Shakes, Im happy. I want to say he is a honest coach and I hope SAFA supports him. I wish him all the luck”.
