According Soccer Laduma, Shakes Mashaba and Rivaldo Coetzee have been nominated in the "Coach of the Year" and "Player of the Year" categories respectively.

Shakes Mashaba's third stint in charge of the national team has gotten off to a rollicking start with Bafana Bafana just one win away from qualification for the 2015 AFCON in Morocco.

17-year-old Ajax Cape Town defender Rivaldo Coetzee has shot to stardom this season following Ajax Cape Town's fine start to the PSL season.

Coetzee became the youngest ever player for Bafana Bafana when Shakes Mashaba thrust him into the starting lineup against Congo in Point Noire last weekend.

The young defender will earn his second cap on Wednesday evening when Bafana Bafana face Congo in Polokwane.

The South African Sports Awards will be staged on November 30.

Nominees:

Coach of the Year: Shakes Mashaba (Bafana Bafana), Graham Hill (Swimming), Neil Powell (Blitzbokke).

Newcomer of the Year: Rivaldo Coetzee (Ajax Cape Town & Bafana Bafana), Wayde Van Niekerk (Athletics), Gezelle Magermann (Athletics).
