Rodgers mum on Bafana exit

Johannesburg - Eleazar Rodgers has declined to comment on his unavailability for South Africa's upcoming 2014 Soccer World Cup qualifiers.

The Santos striker, who has been replaced by Kaizer Chiefs' Lehlohonolo Majoro, has been excused for national duty at his club's request, with the People's Team fighting for PSL survival in the playoffs.

Rodgers scored in his team's 1-0 victory at Thanda Royal Zulu on Wednesday.

And when asked about missing out for Bafana after the game, he replied: "Ya, I don't think I have a comment on that at the moment. I'm here to do what I have to do."

Rodgers, capped twice internationally, added that he was pleased to get his 14th goal of the campaign in midweek.

"An away win is good for the team, And for me it's positive that my scoring form continues. I came here to get the three points and help my team," concluded the towering 27-year-old.

Bafana will host Ethiopia (June 3) and visit Botswana (June 9) in World Cup qualifying action early next month.
