Right time for me - Meyiwa

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa said his international call-up for upcoming international friendlies against neighbours Swaziland and world champions, Spain, came at the right time.

The 26-year-old shot-stopper has displayed tremendous form for his club this year, particularly in the CAF Champions League where Pirates made it all the way to the final before losing to Egypt’s Al Ahly.

Bafana will battle against Swaziland at the Somhlolo Stadium in Lobamba on Friday night before hosting the 2010 FIFA World Cup winners at FNB Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The Umlazi-born goalkeeper is most likely to start for Gordon Igesund's men when they square off with Swaziland.
In an interview with the Kick-Off website, Meyiwa said he feels he needs to go out and just continue doing what he’s been doing at Pirates.

He said he takes a lot of pride from representing his country and that the call-up comes at the right time as he’s learnt a lot playing in the CAF Champions League.

First-choice ’keeper, Itumeleng Khune, is most likely to retain his place between the sticks against Spain.

The game against Swaziland is scheduled to kick off at 20:30.
