Johannesburg - SAFA president Danny Jordaan has confirmed that Carlos Queiroz is among the names of coaches who have applied for the vacant Bafana Bafana job.
According to the Kickoff's website, Jordaan confirmed the news to EWN that 14 coaches have applied to succeed Gordon Igesund, after SAFA decided not to renew his contract, which ends in August.
"We have a list of 14 coaches with huge experience, including Carlos Queiroz, Stephen Keshi, Giovanni Trapattoni and Dick Advocaat," Jordaan said.
"We also have younger coaches also indicating their interest, like Patrick Kluivert, Roberto Carlos and Fabio Cannavaro."
Former Zambia coach Herve Renard and South Africa's Under-20 coach Shakes Mashaba are also said to have applied.
Last week, former Bafana coach Queiroz added fuel to the speculation linking him with a return to the vacant role, telling Portuguese media that he will quit his current role as coach of Iran after the World Cup.
