Pitso and PSL in agreement

Pitso Mosimane will breathe a sigh of relief after the PSL agreed to rearrange their fixtures in order to allow Bafana Bafana an extra week of preparation.

The mighty Egypt lie in wait for South Africa on March 26 in an African Nations Cup qualifier, which the Pharaohs will be desperate to win as they are rock bottom of Group G.

Mosimane's men top the mini-league, but the coach fears the worst against an accomplished side who would have played eight matches in preparation for the encounter at FNB Stadium, while Bafana would have only tackled Burkina Faso (on February 9).

PSL chief executive Kjetil Siem confirmed the PSL will reshuffle its fixtures for the benefit of the national team.

"We get on well with the national team coach and always have good dialogue," Siem told The Times.

"We have had lengthy chats about helping him ahead of the Egypt match and we are finalising our fixture list for the rest of the season."

Mosimane explained last week: "What I have suggested is for the matches scheduled for the weekend (of March 18-20) to be moved to the Wednesday (March 16) so that we can report for camp from the following day (March 17)."

His request looks to have been granted and the league are expected to announce the revised fixtures on Wednesday morning.
