Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana striker Bernard Parker believes they have a balanced team ahead of their crucial 2015 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign which kicks-off next week.
The Kaizer Chiefs forward worked his way back into Shakes Mashaba’s 23-man squad to travel to Equatorial Guinea for the 30th edition of the continental showpiece.
Addressing reporters at a press conference earlier this week, the 28-year-old goal-poacher hinted that Bafana are a very different team compared to previous generations.
“I think we have a whole lot of future Bafana Bafana regulars in the team currently,” said Parker.
“The squad consists of a very young and balanced team.
“We are balanced in all departments, from the goalkeepers to the strikers.
“I think it is very different from the previous squad.”
Bafana Bafana will continue their preparations for AFCON 2015 when they face Cameroon in a friendly on Sunday.
The national team departed for Gabon on Wednesday where they will play the Indomitable Lions three days later (Sunday, January 10) in Libreville in preparation for AFCON 2015, which starts on January 17.
