Otieno: Bafana can beat Egypt

Johannesburg - Kenya boss Zedekia Otieno has offered some advice to Bafana Bafana as they prepare to face Egypt in next month's crucial AFCON qualifier.

The Harambee Stars coach saw his side lose 2-0 to South Africa in Rustenburg on Wednesday night after suffering a 5-1 defeat to the mighty Pharaohs on January 14 in Cairo.

And after playing against both nations, Otieno feels Bafana has the ability to secure a positive result against the continental champions.

"If South Africa puts Egypt under pressure the way they did with us today(Wednesday) and be composed in front of goal I think it is very easy to beat Egypt!," he said.

"Most of the time Egypt wants to really play in the first 20 minutes, they are very good and they try to get an early goal, but if they don't score it is then very easy for you to come back and beat them, even in their own background."

Pitso Mosimane, meanwhile, admitted some of the concerns he has with his squad, with their lack of threatening set-piece delivery being one of his worries.

"How can I improve the free kicks in a few days I have with the team? That must be done at club level and there is no way I can improve that," he said.

"But we don't want to make excuses for the game against Egypt. We must play better than this against Egypt to get a result," concluded the Bafana coach.
