Cape Town - South African defender Anele Ngcongca believes that Bafana Bafana are the team to beat in the upcoming AFCON 2015 tournament.

According to KickOff, Ngcongca is adamant that SA must kick-off the tournament on the front foot because they wouldn’t want to play catch up early on.

“We will have to be ready for everything they throw at us because we want to make South Africa proud at the tournament,” said Ngcongca.

“Judging from the qualifiers, we could be the team to beat as we finished unbeaten compared to the other three who each lost a match.

The Racing Genk defender added that Bafana Bafana must not try to compete physically with the West African sides as they will always come off second best.

The right-back is targeting the team's first game against Algeria as the one to win.

Ngcongca believes that a win in that game will boost the side's confidence for the rest of the tournament.
