Johannesburg - South African Football Association vice-president Chief Mwelo Nonkonyana believes Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane is on the right track with the national team.
According to Nonkonyana, the top brass at SAFA are over the moon with Bafana Bafana's improvement since Mosimane took over from Carlos Alberto Parreira last year.
The South African national team have moved up 48 places to 38th in FIFA's world rankings since Mosimane took charge and are now fourth on the CAF table.
Nonkonyana insists that Mosimane's great work has not gone unnoticed by those in charge of local football.
"Bafana are slowly but surely going up the ladder in Africa as well as the world and the message from the president of SAFA, Kirsten Nematandani is that the association is very proud of the achievements of the coach and his team," Nonkonyana said.
"We would like to congratulate the entire for the good work that you have been doing.
"Rest assured that we are firmly behind you (Mosimane) and the team. We will continue to support you."
He added: "We would also like to thank the people of South Africa for their continued support."
Meanwhile, Mosimane has thanked SAFA for their backing of his abilities as a coach.
"I thank the association for the full support and as a team, we will continue to do our best to make the country proud," he said.
