Mokotjo blow for Bafana

Johannesburg - Midfielder Kamogelo Mokotjo has withdrawn from the Bafana Bafana squad travelling to Morocco due to an injury.

South Africa faces the North Africans in an international friendly match on Friday, 11 October 2013 in Agadir City.

Kick-off is at 21:00.

The Holland-based player will not be replaced, leaving Bafana Bafana with 21 players to prepare for the clash with the Lions of the Atlas.

“I have decided not replace him because we are playing away. If I had to bring in another player, we would have to organize a visa which might take a while. The player might arrive in Morocco on Wednesday or Thursday, and there really is no point in all that. I believe the players I have already will do the business for South Africa,” said Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund.

Bafana Bafana will also be without Kagisho Dikgacoi who withdrew from the squad on Friday after being injured while training with his English club Crystal Palace.

Mokotjo, along with the overseas-based players, was due to meet up with the rest of the national team in Morocco on Tuesday, 08 September. All the local-based players have already arrived in camp.
