Cape Town - Thabo Mnyamane has been called up to the national team by Shakes Mashaba and the forward is understandably buzzing at the prospect of pulling on the Bafana Bafana jersey again.
Not too long ago the 22-year-old was playing football at university level and his sudden rise has definitely been eye-catching.
“It is an amazing feeling, a dream come true,” Mnyamane tells Sport24.
“As a young boy I dreamt of donning the national jersey and now it has come to life.”
The AmaTuks number 10 reflected on how quickly his fortunes have changed and hopes his story will inspire others.
“I was playing varsity football, I was just a normal student and now I am playing in the PSL within the blink of an eye.
“I hope it shows that it is possible to reach your dreams.”
Mnyamana scored on his Bafana debut against Swaziland a few months ago making him one of only three players to do so.
Bafana Bafana take on Mauritius on Saturday in the second leg of their CHAN qualifier, which they are leading 3-0 on aggregate.
Kick-off is at 13:30 (SA time).
