Masilela's Bafana career over?

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs defender Tsepo Masilela says he has accepted that his Bafana Bafana career may be over after being snubbed for the latest squad by new coach Shakes Mashaba.

According to the football411 website, Masilela had been the first-choice left-back since he made his debut back in 2006, but Mashaba preferred Orlando Pirates' Thabo Matlaba and Sibusiso Khumalo of SuperSport United for the upcoming 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan and Nigeria.

The 29-year-old said he understands that age is no longer on his side and that the new mentor is rebuilding a squad for the future.

"No. Not at all. I don't feel hard done," the Amakhosi full-back told reporters.

""I have played for the national team for about 50 times now."

"All I can say is that I'm happy that I got a chance to represent my country. It seems as if they're rebuilding the team and all I can do is to support and wish them luck," he added.
