Mashaba fires AFCON warning

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana ended their 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifying campaign as unbeaten Group A winners on Wednesday with a 2-2 away draw against Nigeria, who failed to advance to the finals.

Despite failing to beat the continental champions, Mashaba insists the country will not be simply adding numbers at the tournament in Equatorial Guinea next year.

"We will go back home and organise two or three practice matches towards Equatorial Guinea to acclimatise and adjust,” the Bafana coach is quoted as saying by KickOff.com website.

"It's been some time, but we will not add numbers there. We are going to compete.

"If people are going to take us for a ride then it's at their own peril."

Mashaba felt his men were unlucky not to record a first ever competitive win over the Super Eagles.

"I still say it's a question of luck, we should have beaten them at home in the 0-0 draw. And this one as well, they still have that extra bit of luck."
