Mashaba eyes Plate final

Cape Town – Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba has warned his side that they should not take “Malawi lightly”.

According to Soccer Laduma, Mashaba is determined for his side to surpass Malawi and guarantee their place in the Plate section final.

“We cannot afford to take Malawi lightly. They are giants in the regions and they are also hurt by the defeat to Mozambique,” said Mashaba.

Mashaba says that he expects “good things” when they clash heads as they were given Monday off after their loss to Botswana on Sunday.

“We wanted them to recover fully, mentally and physically, hence the players were given a full day off. We expect good things on Wednesday against Malawi; that is our intention.”

The Royal Bafokeng Stadium will play host to the Plate section with Bafana and Malawi set to clash at 19:30 on Wednesday, May 27.

Bafana Bafana Starting XI:

Mabokgwane, Nhlapo, Mngonyama, Daniels, Motupa, Van Heerden, Morena, Madisha, Bhengu, Segolela, Lark.
