Cape Town - Shakes Mashaba remains reluctant to reveal who will be the new captain ahead of Bafana Bafana’s all important AFCON clashes.
Following the passing of Senzo Meyiwa on October 26, Mashaba still has to reveal who will take over the captaincy armband.
According to KickOff, the 64-year-old coach said the issue will be settled within the next 48-hours.
"That will definitely come between Thursday or Friday and we will definitely let you [the media] know," Mashaba said.
The former under-23 mentor admits that deciding on who will be captain is no problem as the starting XI is all that matters which will be revealed on Friday, November 14.
"That is why in this team we make sure that on Friday we announce the squad that will play on Saturday.
"We do everything once and for all and we sleep. We can do it [now] but there is a lot that can happen in between and we don't want to be chopping and changing. We will definitely give you the captain on Friday."
Bafana welcome Sudan on Saturday, November 15 at the Moses Mabhida. KickOff is at 15:00.
Meanwhile, Bafana Bafana defeated local National First Division side Royal Eagles FC 2-1 on Tuesday evening (11 November). Strikers Lehlohonolo Majoro and Tokelo Rantie scored for the national team.
