Manyisa: We need a result

Cape Town - Oupa Manyisa is looking to put the experience gained from the CAF Champions League to good use when South Africa face Congo in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The midfielder has traveled the continent extensively with Orlando Pirates, and is set to visit Brazzaville once again this weekend, but this time with Bafana Bafana.

He said that he expects a hostile environment at the country's capital, when the two teams clash in the first leg of the Group A encounter on Saturday.

"Although I am going back with the national team, nothing will be different," Manyisa told his club's website.

"We know the crowd in Congo. When we went there (with Pirates) we were well prepared for them.

"Those guys play very well at home and their people make sure they support their team especially if they are doing well."

"We know we have to go there and get a result, so we must only think about getting a result there - we want a result and we must not care about anything else.

"It is not going to be easy but I think most of the guys here have played tough matches and we will be ready," he added.

Bafana will depart on Thursday afternoon for Point-Noire, the Republic of Congo's second largest city after its capital Brazzaville. The match will be played at the Stade Municipal.

They return to South Africa on Sunday, ahead of next week's return fixture against the Red Devils in Polokwane.

Bafana Bafana fixtures:

Saturday, October 11 - Congo v SA (Pointe Noire) at 16:30.

Wednesday, October 15 - SA v Congo (Peter Mokaba Stadium) at 20:05.
