Josephs hints at Bafana return

Johannesburg - Moeneeb Josephs says he is willing to sit down with Gordon Igesund to discuss a possible return to the Bafana Bafana set-up.

The Orlando Pirates goalkeeper announced his retirement from international football earlier this year, citing personal reasons as his decision.

However, it is widely believed the 32-year-old had become increasingly frustrated at playing second-fiddle to Itumeleng Khune, who was favoured between the sticks by former national team coach Pitso Mosimane.

Former Moroka Swallows boss Igesund has since been instilled as Bafana boss, and Josephs admits he is willing to meet the four-time PSL title-winning coach to discuss his future in the national side.

"I have played under him before (at Ajax Cape Town), so I know what he is capable of achieving. If he says he sees a role for me, I'd like to talk to him about it," Josephs told The Sowetan.

South Africa are next in action against world footballing giants and 2014 World Cup hosts Brazil in a friendly international in September.
