Igesund happy with Bafana work

Cape Town - Former Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund insists that he is satisfied with what he achieved while still at the helm of the senior national team.

Igesund's contract at SAFA expired in August this year after two years and it wasn't renewed but the coach feels he fulfilled his duties at the national team.

"As for the national team I am happy with the work I did. I finished off my contract of two years. Many coaches played about 10 to 15 games in that two years but I played 30 and only lost nine. That's a good record," he told the Soccer Laduma website.

"For SuperSport I am happy to be back on the field. I love to be on the field and the players are responding well which is making my life easier to get the results, but we are not yet where we want to be though we are on the right track," the four time PSL winning coach expressed.

Igesund has a chance of bagging silverware for the Tshwane side this season when his charges face Platinum Stars in the Telkom Knockout final on 29 November.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
